19th March 2008 Scuba Diving: Tawilla Island - Red sea Wind Direction: NNE Wind Stength: 6 Surf / Sea State: dead flat Air Temperature: 28 Sea Temperature: Weather: v sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Went to tawilla island (20km off el gouna) with the promise of wind, took 1.5 hours on a boat which was fun, but when we arrived there was not a breath of wind !! bit of a shame, but we were on a desert island so hard to be too fed up !! spent the morning on there walking around. My mate who is about 4 stone put his 12m up and managed to get up and going on a massive board, but when he is kitelooping just to stay up there isnt any hope for the rest of us !! left tawilla at lunch and went to a reef about an hour away to do some snorkelling. First time i had really done it which was cool. Saw a turtle and loads of fish, the rib dropped us off on the other side of the reef and we swam over back to the boat. Spent the rest of the afternoon jumping from the top of the boat into the water which was great ! Arrived back in el gouna at about 6 that evening. |
